The Newtown Rotary Club proudly partners with Newtown Fire Rescue, our community's dedicated heroes who have been keeping Newtown safe since 1889. Newtown Fire Rescue consists of brave men and women who stand ready day and night to protect our families, homes, and businesses. These local heroes serve our community of over 18,000 residents with unwavering dedication, responding to emergencies with their fleet of fire engines, ladder trucks, and specialized rescue vehicles.
From battling blazes to providing critical first aid and conducting life-saving rescues, Newtown Fire Rescue embodies the spirit of service that makes our community special. The department requires essential equipment and specialized apparatus that our firefighters need to continue their vital work. Whether it's advanced safety gear to protect them as they protect us, or specialized tools that can mean the difference between life and death in an emergency, community support directly enhances their ability to serve.
Newtown Fire Rescue has an incredible legacy — from their humble beginnings with a hand-pumper affectionately called "Old Washy" to today's modern emergency response team. These local heroes give so much to keep our community safe and the Newtown Rotary is honored to support their mission.
